Why we LOVE Aspen Snowmass Colorado

The villages of Aspen Snowmass are located in the center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and are very easily accessible. The ease of arrival is Number 1 on our list for a TRUE Vacation. Once you land at the Aspen Airport, you are only 15 minutes to your vacation home. The town of Aspen and the Snowmass Village are only 30 minutes apart from each other. You can use the convenient free bus system, taxi or rental car. Keep your costs low by using the Free Bus Transportation System.

There are 4 different ski centers in Aspen Snowmass destination. Each with it’s own character, mountain views, ski terrain and enjoyment. Snowmass is the largest of the 4 ski areas offering 100s of slopeside accommodations. The ski area offers every level of skiing for the entire family from beginner to advanced ski trails. The Elk Camp area is perfect for never ever skiers or riders.

Buttermilk is ideal for never ever skiers and snowboarders. It is a smaller ski area with wonderful, easy beginner ski trails. Buttermilk is the perfect place to learn how to enjoy skiing.

I feel that the Aspen Highlands is the most challenging of the 4 Aspen ski areas. I LOVE hiking the Aspen Highlands Bowl, being on top of the world and skiing the steep, powder filled bowl. If you can do this, you are truly an expert. I train year round to hike this area!

The Aspen Mountain meets with the town of Aspen. You can walk right up to the Aspen Gondola from the heart of Aspen’s Pedestrian Mall. The ski terrain is challenging, but you can take the gondola to the Top of the World to enjoy the views, have lunch, apres-ski and then take the gondola back down to town. No need to ski! Just enjoy the breathtaking views!
